The weekend’s sports headlines were dominated by the vistory of an American who triumphed in the face of adversity. No disrespect to Tiger Woods, but I think Floyd Landis, the “Mennonite Meteorite” winning the Tour de France was more noteworthy than some boring golf tournament.
So after 7 years of the Tour de France being dominated by an American, the most unpredictable race for years is won…by another American.

Hey dude I guess it must be time to start singing the Star Strangled Spanner....
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air (over Irag, Afganistan etc...),
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there (we will keep it there whatever it takes - never mind about imagining other countries may have rights)
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? (yeah where elections are not counted fairly and a mentally retarded person is allowed to be president)
Hmmm....don't we all LOVE the Americans...
The Dreaming Armadillo would like to apologise to any American readers for the comments posted above. Complaints to be sent to Lorainne and not to the blog moderator!
Well if you can't have free speech on a blog then what hope is there for anything...
I have no problem with individual Americans, their government and foreign policy is the problem. As for our bloody British government.....there is a lot to criticise there. But at least Blair has an IQ of over 100....which could make some of his actions less excusable I suppose...
Lorainne, I'm fully in favour of free speech - otherwise, I would have deleted your comment.
So much for Blair's IQ - it still doesn't stop him being the poodle of a man with a much lower IQ.
I agree entirely - Blair is worse than Bush because he should have the intelligence not to follow his lead like a little lapdog....
I say briefly: Best! Useful information. Good job guys.
