Quote of the Day

"Everyone should pull their finger out and start a business and to believe in themselves. There is nothing else to it. Anyone can make a £100m. But most people don't go out and try. They just stand in the pub and complain."

Duncan Bannatyne, entrepreneur and owner of Bannatynes health clubs chain quoted in the Guardian

Food for thought.

I'm not the sort to stand in the pub and complain , that's what blogs are for :-) Seriously, I don't want to make £100m, the sort of stress you'd be under to make that and keep it.

I am going to write a bestseller - this is how I will make 100m - as i have no business acumen so creativity is the only way I will make money. As for stress - I would put it back into society by founding a school or a hostel for the homeless or something as well as give some to friends, family etc... - perhaps would spend a little on myself but not all of it....

Each to their own, Cyberscribe. I think the point he was making is that it can be done, but most of the people who would like to make this kind of money would rather take the easy option by moaning about their humdrum existence or soulless office job than leave their comfort zone by actually doing somethng about it. Having said that I wonder if there are any business opportunities in blogging...

Lorainne, good luck with your bestseller!

'business opportunities in blogging' might take a while here in the UK. I might contact all the toilet manufacturers and see if I can get sponsorship;-)

As for business opportunities in blogging I imagine Ciaran is thinking that established bloggers such as himself may be employed by a company (or on a contract to a number of different companies) to write their intranet/webpage/company marketing literature etc...

Failling that, at least you will have a clean toilet.
